Hello,
The database was down for a couple of hours. The database server will soon be offline for a while, to optimise performance.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Warnings for when you take away the Precioussss.
It was more an event than an action. Thus, warning was not possible. Sorry.

I am getting regular errors when trying to get into the forums (sometimes the forums are OK but the subforums and threads not) - white page with database error reported. Has been happening on and off for a good few days. I tried a few minutes ago in the modding forums and could not access them. All OK again now but I wonder for how long...
What's up?
The database needs some large maintenance. It's not sure when this can be done.
Problems with databases can happen when it grows or when used more (more members, more posts, more searches and the hardware not being overpowered anymore to pull it off anyway). Compare it with a fragmentation of your harddrive. You probably won't notice when Wordpad is used, but you will when you launch M2TW.
Board was down for 20 seconds to import a product. Server needed a bit more power there, sorry.
Tosa, we cant see a profile of someone.
An Guild error ocurrs when you watch someone profile.

Same error happens when I try to look at the active users list (RTW-skin)
Just tried to view a profile with that skin and it's working - must have been fixed

Yes, that skin
Yes, that skin
Same with me on ALL skins.
Thank you, I see it now, yet not exactly why it's wrong.

I get the same error using the Arabique skin.
I just tried the RTW skin and it works fine. I did like that Arabique color scheme though.
I haven't been receiving topic tracker updates for the past three days. Could this be related to the database troubles?
It was down today at 12:30. Shame you are having all these problems.

Yes, that's quite possible Ludens.
Please try https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription
And select from the 'Selected Threads:' dropdownmenu at the bottom, your desired subscription type. No, instant, daily or weekly.
It was caused by a global error Hosakawa Tito. The Arabique skin is working for me.

I added a few thread suscriptions yesterday, but I didn't receive an update for them either. I also don't receive forum updates. It's not my e-mail, as I did receive a mail when you sent me a PM.
It's definitely been better today, a few lags here and there but nothing serious. I seriously think that the increase of the flood time on the search function has made a big difference, unless there's something else that's been changed?

Maybe it is my e-mail. This morning I recieved today's and yesterday's topic updates  .
The same database error again just a while ago. Is there any resolution to this? Is it the "Too many connections" error or something else?

Where's everybody?
R'as al Ghul, it appears that the board downtime affects some, but not others.
had it when I wanted to access this thread, refreshed and it worked
guess it needs a server restart or something
It was down again for a while at 11:56 GMT, for me anyway.
Right now there is only me and Lusted online according to the display. Perhaps it's a bug.
It's not a bug, they've probably restarted mysqld (or whatever they're using) afew times. The user sessions are usually reset so all users are effectively logged out. A while ago when I looked, there was no one logged in. It also effects everyone, not just a few. No database = no forums. The post and user tables are stored in the database, the forums software is used to access, view and manipulate these. Both have to work or nothing works. I'm thinking that the server taking too many connections, but can't be sure. I hope they get it fixed.
The host is mailed. The database is bigger than ever and there are more users. This puts extra load on the hardware. It's worked on.
Perhaps the Org needs it's own huge server rather than sharing one with other sites. Would that be possible without paying?
