Greetings all !

Am posting here as more members have post rights here. If Mods feel appropriate please move the thread to Frontroom.

I watched an EXCELLENT movie last night on FRANCE 2 (Antenne 2).

I was reading and the TV was on in the background. I started watching it about 20 minutes in and got hooked. I don't know what the movie is called, I had a look on www.france2.fr and I can't find it. It was on pretty late-ish around 23:00 maybe 00:00.

I'd really like to know the name of the movie so I can buy it.

The movie is set in the Bosnian conflict. There is a Serbian man, whose wife leaves him. His son decides to join the Army and fight for the Serb Republic. This man is a cheminot, he looks after a small stretch of railorad near a village. One day the postman brings news that this man's son has been captured by the Bosnian Muslim Army. He goes to enlist in order to fight for his son's release, but his enlistment is rejected.

A few days later, Serb soldiers capture a Muslim medic from a raid on an installation. One of the Serbs brings this medic back to the man as a prisoner. The soldier thinks that this young woman is from a wealthy Muslim family and holding her hostage will secure the son's release.

So the love story begins between an Orthodox Serb male and a Bosnian Muslim female. The prisoner falls for the master and vice versa, there's a lot of complications along the way. She is shot by Muslim soldiers and taken by the UN later when the war ends, in exchange for his son.

Ultimately as everything seems lost, it isn't (or is it ?) and they are able to cling to each other through the war, religion and everything else.

It was absolutely fantastic.

Actually for males, just that woman is enough to watch the movie again and again. Damm she is HOT.

I'VE GOT TO HAVE THAT MOVIE !! HELP !!!

Does anyone know the name of this movie ?

I GOT IT !

I went to the video store to rent a movie last night, and the guy behind the counter had watched it on TV as well.

It's called Zivot je cudo (2004) by Emir Kusturica:
... aka Life Is a Miracle (International: English title) (USA: literal English title)
... aka Hungry Heart (International: English title)
... aka Vie est un miracle!, La (France) Life is a Miracle

Sebaha aka Natasa Solak. I could'nt find many images of her, but in the movie she is Gorgeous, trust me. And NO she's not your average superficial Pussycat Doll! She's not the only reason to watch the movie, it's a frekin AWESOME movie, but... but yeah azzurri, Mama mia ! Que buonazza (spelling?) she could be reason enough.

wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nata%C5%A1a_%C5%A0olak
"Nataša Šolak (Наташа Шолак) was born August 27, 1975 in Kruševac, Yugoslavia (Serbia). She is a Serbian actress. The blonde green-eyed actress is most recognized for her role as muslim hostage Sabaha in Emir Kusturica's Life Is a Miracle, in 2004."

Good that you found it.

As for speaking french fluently, that puts you a long way ahead of me :P

Considering i was searching a site that only allows you to view back to yesterday on friday local time, it's no wonder i couldn't find it :P

Shot through the Heart is a good movie about Sarajevo, based on a true story too.
