A few questions:
Is it possible to make factions emerge in BI and give them cities once they emerge? I'm not talking about scripts to make them attack certain settlements, but prehaps a script or something that gives them settlements once they have emerged.
When a faction emerges as a horde (like the Slavs) it doesnt have to be at the edge of the map does it? For example; could I make a faction appear smack bang in the middle of Italy.
Is it possible to make sure factions will allways remain at war, and wont conduct a ceasefire?
How do you make the start of a family tree a dead person? I think I saw it in a mod, prehaps The Crusades. Ive tried to do it for RTW, but have had no luck.
Is it possible to tie building construction to a certain province, through hidden resourcces or something?
Any help would be appreciated, thankyou in advance!!

Do you want this horde to show up at a certain year? If so, I think this might be your answer: I think it has to be changed either in data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_events, or it may have to be changed in descr_strat. I don't have BI, so I'm not sure.

I don't think so, but you can make them REALLY hate each other at the beginning so it has a less chance of happening if you edit descr_strat. At the bottom, there is a "starting diplomacy" section. Mess with that to change how much they like each other.

I'm not sure, but maybe if you make the event of the faction leader dying at the very start of the campaign? (I'm not sure if you can do that though).
Sorry I don't know the answer to the rest of your questions, and since I don't have BI don't take what I say to be 100% accurate.

Unfortunately it does if you're using the Slavs type event emergence it only works on province that has at least one valid (i.e. not mountain / forest) pixel at edge of map: see post #12

Once faction has emerged I assume you could possibly give it possession of cities via script.
Easiest way of making factions remain at war is start them at war, don't put diplomats in strat and don't allow them to be built in EDB (if faction hordes it can still get diplomat but that's not such a significant factor) - I personally like playing without diplomats but not everyone does. Unfortunately short of that the diplomacy settings don't seem to do a lot, unless anyone else can advise....
You can't start with a dead faction leader in strat you can only make him very old and hope, or kill him off by script on first turn (which ATW and some other mods did)

What defines an edge province? Can it just be bordering the sea? Prehaps it would be clearer if I explained my idea:
I want a new faction to spawn in Italy, as a horde; at a set date. Is it at all possible using any methods, slav faction or otherwise?
