Bloody France, they accepted a 1550 ransom for a family member, but not a 160 for 3 full units...
They want vassal every turn, so i get 2k out of it first time, they attack that same turn :inquisitive: then they ask vassal again, i get toulouse :inquisitive: they attack same turn. Continues like that, and now i have all but paris...from them attacking me! :laugh4:

Not really funny, but I did figure out the charge thing finally. This goes to show that with a proper charge(multiple charges) and a general and 3 units of mailed knights, you can kick some serious HRE ass.

I smashed every army in europe as the hre with mounted sergents and mailed knights :P
Bad luck there too - you took a lot of casualties :P
I still can't believe that i killed 1500 and 600 for a loss of 200 and didn't get a heroic victory :(

I actually took most of my casualties from their peasant crossbowmen. Otherwise every time I charged the infantry they would route and then run away for awhile then come back for more! :charge:

Mounted seargants and mailed knights are even better against the Byzantines where you can just mob any horse archers killing them instantly leaving you with a general to kill, some archers to run down and a few pesky militiamen. I took over basically all of the Byzantine empire with 400 men worth of mailed knights and generals with one mercenary as infantry for battering rams. Killed five full stacks on my march from thessaloinca to constantinople. Had four generals go from no experience to one gold in three turns.
LOOL ! Those are HIlarious !

Don't have the picture to support it: But in my current campaign - one of my Dukes was known as
"Duke Michel the Chivalrous"... with max dread
Yeh - i've seen how that can happen :beam:
He just needs to earn 14 dread points, then go fully chivalrous to achieve a level 4 bastion of chivalry trait (iirc) and he can get the name but keep his full dread status :laugh4:

Two different meanings there. Orthodox the religion, and orthodox in his way of following the faith.
Of course, but it's still funny :)
