Excepect A&M to roll over your Okies just like the smurfs will do here in a coupla days.indeed. really disappointing performance from the sooners coaches. problem is stoops has lost his staff over the years where he had such success. it's a nice legacy (former stoops assistants are head coaches at AU, TT, KU, SDSU) but you could see the unimaginative playcalling take it's toll on OU.
what annoyed me most, however, is all this "david and goliath" talk. these stupid commentators think the disparity exists between these types of schools like it did back when they played. utter nonsense; this isn't barry switzer's sooners, and it's not the BSU of 20-years ago. to some extent, it was just fox trying to sell a product. but it helped give BSU an emotional edge. in a game that's probably 30% emotion, 30% talent, 30% coaching, that's a huge edge.
call me a bad fan, but to be honest, i kind of thought OU was going to lose. this was obviously the biggest game in BSUs history, and OU really hasn't been that great this year. if colt mccoy hadn't gotten injured, UT would have won the big-12.
even still, the OU players showed great fortitude getting back into the game and nearly winning it. and it took some drawn-up-in-the-dirt antics from BSU to pull off the win. if OU had had better coaching/playcalling, they'd have won.
things aren't looking good for next year though. peterson will be gone, rookie QB, alexander will be gone, probably latimer too.. yikes. maybe A&M can finally pull out a.. tie?

ALBM, they are talking about college/university level American football.
OU = Oklahoma Univeristy "Sooners" (aka Okies)
BSU = Boise State University (just played and beat OU in a major game that has a very wild finish...wish I'd have seen it)
A&M = Texas A&M University
UT = University of Texas
Big 12 = a conference of 12 universities* that compete against each other in various collegiate sports (*unlike the Big 10 conference which has 11 teams)
Rutgers, Kansas = other universities
I fully realize even knowing the above, this thread will still not make any sense to you, but at least you have a clue about what you're not understanding. :laugh4:

Texas A&M - "Big Boy" Lane, Stephen McGee, (Heisman sleeper) Michael Goodson and 13 other starters return to give A&M a chance at playing for a Conference Title and BCS Bowl game. 30 other non-Senior players were back-ups and/or saw significant playing time. 6'6 230 lb Humble product, Jerrod Johnson, may see some pt @ QB. He has the potential of VY, but even if he becomes a shade of VY, that would be tremendous for the A&M program. On defense, 22 non-Senior athletes saw significant pt, this past season....of which 7 started.
