that is from vanilla, now any Idea about this? I think it should be the Guard that has better morale :dizzy2:

btw what is or how big is the difference between "hardy" and "very hardy" ?

I think the fact that Polish Knights are impetuous is somewhat of a disadvantage, as they charge without orders. The "low" for the Guard doesn't necessarily mean that their morale is low, as other elite units, such as Gothic Knights, are also at the "low" setting. This affects only their discipline, i.e. their unit cohesion.

Quote from ExportDescrUnit.txt :

; stat_mental The base morale level, followed by discipline and training
; discipline may be normal, low, disciplined or impetuous. Impetuous units may charge without orders
; training determines how tidy the unit's formation is. Discipline the response to morale SHOCKS
; optional lock_morale stops unit from ever routing

Knight : stat_mental 11, impetuous, trained
Guard : stat_mental 11, low, trained

Both units you quoted are at the same morale level (11), differ in discipline (impetuous vs. low) and have the same level of unit "tidiness", as explained by the kind folks at CA who left the comments in the data files.

IMO discipline is a part of morale, you couldn't be disciplined if your morale is low and you are more likely to rout if you don't have discipline.

Discipline is quite different from morale. In-game Knights Templar, for example, have excellent morale but their poor discipline means they often go charging into battle, not sticking properly to lines, etc. due to their spposed arrogance. Morale is the willingness to fight, discipline is self-control and following orders.
