Has anyone managed to get a princess to marry a Mongol/Timurud general/family member? I've been trying and I can't seem to manage it; and the thought of stealing away one of those awesome Mongol generals with one of my dainty little princesses is amusing.

Has it been set to be impossible in the code somewhere; and if so is it possible to change this?

Muslim factions and princesses are non-compatible in MTW2. Plus, you can't steal muslim generals either. So no.

I don't know if it could be modded though.

Oh, I didn't realize you couldn't steal muslim generals.

If thats just it, then all you'd have to do would be to switch Mongols to Pagan/etc (which they should be, as they were /not/ Muslim at that point) - and the issue would go away. I'm not sure if other issues would pop up, or what you'd change in what setting file to make the Mongol faction Pagan

They converted to Islam after conquering the area. Since, in the game, they don't do anything with religion until after they settle it works out fine. They don't join jihads and the like while in horde, they have no imams when they come in, and they can't build anything until after they settle down someplace.

CA should have left them as Pagan as what is nominally known as the Golden Horde did not convert to Islam for almost 100 years

Every campaign I play I see Mongol Jihads roaming aimlessly around Asia Minor... maybe they shouldn't be allowed to crusade/jihad or something.

Does anyone know which file controls the setting for the religion of each faction?

I think descr_factions or descr_strat file. I'm away from my M2TW comp right now so I'm not sure. Any how, poke around in the imperial campaign folder. You should find something there.
