i bought the game and started playing it with my laptop which has a graphics card of over 200 mb's and more than a gig of ram and still when I assemble huge armies to fight on the battlemap, the graphics go crazy. everything starts to flicker, the camera movement is EXTREMELY choppy to the point of frustrating and sometimes the screen will just meld into an asortment of colors during a battle. the sound works fine, so does the text but everything else is crap. can someone help me? i already tried downloading the latest patch from sega.com, that didnt work. if you have any advice, please tell me.

Firstly, what are your other system specs, like Processer speed, sound card (if any)? Does your graphics card have the most up-to-date drivers? Is the graphics card itself listed as compatable with the game?

Well, the first advice to give you is search for existing threads regarding your problem. But then again, whatever.

Try to lower your graphical settings and see how it works out. Don't immediately use Shader 1 instead 2 (what some people'd suggest), but try those specific settings first. After that you can always go to Shader 1 (though the difference isn't that big).
Most performance-consuming setting is Shadows. Take that off and you win lots of performance already.

I am no where near any kind of expert on any of this but just from personal exp, the color merg sounds a bit like a possible over heating issue.

It never hurts to start from the lowest and work up, as in first making sure your comp's innards are clean and there's good air flow to the proper areas.

Next, if that didnt work, I'd try updating vid card drivers. Also, maybe check and see if you can update mb, processor drivers (I was recently surprised to learn that duel core processors have drivers and tweekers that can be updated, go figure, eh?).

If all that doesnt fix it, the first option I'd turn down or off on graphics is the shadows like the previous posters said.

Bloom and sparkle stuff can be turned off without a lot of loss in visual grace as well.
