First off i'd like to say I love the new version it has had me captivated the last few days. I've been around with EB for a long long time and this is by far the best release. So in my time ive played 3 campaigns so far, the Lusotanians are really cool I love the new units great heavy infantry, much more fun to play than the Iberians. Macedonians began my reconquest of Alexander's old kingdom, alliances being thrown back and forth between the Ptolemics, Seleukids and the Macedonians finally they both decided they stand a better chance teaming up on me lol. Right now there is a bitter fight for Asia minor cities going back and forth so fast I can't keep track other than looking how much of the map consists of Black. My large mercenary armies are finally being replaced by elite armies of the home kingdom. I have more money in this campaign than I really know what to do with, even with my huge elite armies i've been throwing around huge forces of mercenaries as well.
Moving on to the campaign I have been totally captivated by, the Saka Rauka. Hard start I captured a few rebel settlements and tried to improve my economy with little luck, when the Baktrians decided they wanted to destroy me I was thrown into a desperate situation. With a few quick very decisive battles with only a few hundred horsemen I destroyed all of Baktria exterminated their cities and destroyed their buildings, this is where the campaign became very enjoyable. I now had the economic power to support some large armies. I have been training full stacks of horsemen with 4 or 5 units of kataphracts the rest early Saka nobles(great all around cavalry). After a short war that has made me HATE the Persians I crushed them exterminated each of their cities atleast 3 times and left me with a fear of their general bodyguard unit which is the best heavy cavalry in the game. I now have a strong position in the Northeastern part of the map. I began my push across Russia, these provinces are desperately needed considering they provide me with my fighting power. Not much to say about the fight in the north my armies push constantly across the plains capturing settlements the Sarmatians are all but destroyed.
For some reason the Seleukids decided they didn't like me anymore by attacking one of my old Baktrian cities with a relatively small force. I retialiated in such a fashion that can only be compared to the German blitzkrieg, I have nearly 5 full stacks pushing so hard across the Seleukid border that im leaving little Seleukid armies all over the place to be cleaned up by my second wave. I have had to recapture a few of my cities but still Seleukid is desperately throwing armies at me left and right to only be completely destroyed with only a small loss to my armies (god i love horse archers and saka kataphracts). I am about halfway through Seleukid territory and anxiously await to reach the mediterrianian where I suppose I will have to turn inward and secure my empire, hopefully my forces in the north will be able to continue to keep up with my southern armies. But nonetheless bravo EB team great job I look forward to the completion of this mod~ ~ ~
