I was playing as England, when a turn in events happened...
...I discovered that the Rebels bribed my general that was going to help aid King William. I lost the army that was comeing to aid King William, thus I had to withdraw my plans to attack the Scottish city. Thankfully I did because the Scotts sent a diplomat to ask for aliance and trade, I agreed. I still needed to get revenge, on the Rebels! So I attacked one of the Rebel settlements. I made shure this time they would not bribe this general, because the attacking general was King William. About 2 minutes into the first battle of what would become known as "The Rebel Wars". I noticed something odd, The enemies where routing then charging, then repeating. So I sent my calvery forward. They charged the enemy lines, throwing men left and right. Then I used the same calvery units to lure the enemies into an awaiting ambush. I made them go to the plaza. The enemy units started fighting a small number of infantry in the plaza area. Completely unaware I had units moving in on there 2 escape routes. Then, they saw one road open. Or at least they hoped was open. As they ran down the road I had units to close off the entrance to the plaza, while the other units sprung the trap. The second team closed off the exit. Then my "captured enemies" count went up by the fives. I killed every enemy except 200 men, who I exicuted. Then I sacked the settlement. I had won the first battle of "The Rebel Wars".

Part II
> The French Ambush

The French decided to take sides with the Rebels. By attacking one of my ships, and blockading a port. So I set up an ambush, near my border on there side. They had a unit come by whose banner was full. Mine however was 1/4 the way full. But I had the element of surprise. Still the odds where on there side. I had prepared to lose that battle, but I watched the enemy before I engaged in combat. I put my Archers out to the side with 'fire at will' orders, then my Calvary in behind my Infantry. I put my general in the very back out of harm's way. Then I started the battle! I used my calvary to break up the enemy archers before they could form up. There archers quickly routed. So I foucused my calvary on the flanks of the spearmen who where already engaged in close combat with my infantry. As I got my calvary lined-up to flank the spearmen, I recived heavy missile fire from the enemy general's bodyguards/archers. I then foucused my archers on the enemy general. My archers took the enemy archer's bows for just one tiny moment. But I was able to slip my calvary through the routing enemies and to the spearmen. I did it I flanked the spearmen! They fell apart and where captured. Then I sent my calvary and infantry forward to attack the enemy general. But I found myself in a trap. The enemy had put their spearmen in ambush formation, right in front of their archers. I suffered heavy calvary losses, but thanks to my infantry taking the big blow from the spearmen, and the archers for occuping the enemy archers I got my calvary to safety. The enemy spearmen soon joined all the other French in making a un-orginised retreat. I then made a big gamble, I thew everything I had at the general trying to take him out so the others would route. But after he and my guys lost very many men, He tried to make a re-treat. But my small calvary chased him down. They never got the chance to kill or capture him, because I saw enemy spearmen going strait to my general (who was on horses). So I got my calvary, infantry, and archers to go for that final unit of spearmen. After the spearmen routed I won the second major battle in "The Rebel Wars". I cought 540 enemies as prisoners. and just to show them why they should leave me alone I exicuted them all. The very next turn France offered $3,000 if I agreed to a ceasefire, then another $3,000 for an alliance! The pope forced me to agree.

After making an alliance with France, I foucused my forces at the 2 Rebel settlements east of Caen. Well I conquered both peacefully by maintaining the seige untill they starved.
