Playing as my Scots campaign on VH/VH, I recently conquered Paris, bordering territories captured by Milan. I have a full stack garrison, but I am still constently besieged by Milanese armies led by captains with five or six units, most of which are usually crossbowmen. I always massacre them in the end, but take heavy casualties to their crossbowmen.

Sounds like the enemy are doing their job.

Same thing is happening in my Silician campaign. Ajaccio has been mine since the third turn, and ever since then milan has sent stacks of crossbowmen and peasants siege it. Every turn it seems to happen. In the end I have just lined the walls with muslim archers and massacre them every time. But it is becoming frustrating.
Im having that in my sicily campaign ont he southern Island north of tunis, the Moo-rrs keep sending 3 or 4 unit stacks by boat i kill them they send another, not even hurting my economy really just being annoyingI even attempted to send an invasion fleet to fight off them but loe and behold 1 of these transport fleets was a 5 stack fleet of war galleys and I barely got out alive :P

As the scots I took Constantinople on the way to a crusade and left alot of units there to garrison it, the Byzantines sieged with about, 4 trebutches, 3 catapaults and about 4 ballistas. Then he had about 4 units of heavy infantry and 1 unit of heavy cavalry. With my garrison I managed one successful sally and then a few turns later he killed my men and exterminated his own city, lol, and now the Turks are besieging them, and the holes that they put in the wall, theyve got no chance! poetic justice

Same thing happened in my venice campaign. Milan sent, no joke, 6 armies in a row to my besieged venice city, and i couldn't get any relief in, so i just had to hold out.. they would just produce swarms and swarms and swarms of crossbowmen. Heavy horse is your friend, they annihliate those guys. I had a battle of over an hour real time in a siege, 3 generals, all survived and all went down to their last man. very lucky!
They are most likely raids, which means that they want to send a full invasion stack but can't afford to (they might have some full stacks but they are tied up elsewhere). Build an invasion force of your own and take a few of their cities before the Pope can shut you down.

Sure sounds like the accursed Milanese. :furious3: I played as Denmark...war to knife with Milan. As England...war to the knife with Milan. Currently as Sicily, you guessed it...war to the knife with Milan. As I said on another thread, watch out for assassin spam by Milan. Got to sabotage those assassin factories pronto! Cheers and good hunting!
