Unpacker Problem

I know the readme says it can screw up your install... but it seriously does... it doesnt work...

After ive used the unpacker to unpack the files and i start up the game... everything works find untill i fight a battle... any battle... in campaign, custom, quick or historical... it loads the battle and the moment the loading screen fades and the battle screen loads it says unspecified error and the game shuts down...

Sounds as if you forgot to delete the two files that the Readme mentions. Check to see if you deleted them, or at least renamed them so the game engine can't find them (That's what I did).

Per the Readme file in the new /unpacker folder you should delete

descr_geography_new.txt
descr_geography_new.db

FYI, I renamed them to

descr_geography_new(info).txt
descr_geography_new(info).db

Renaming works as well as deleting, and you can then look thru them if you want. Hope this solves your problem.

I have exactly the same problem.

The only thing that solves it is uninstalling the game, deleting the whole MTW2 folder, and then reinstall.

Anyway, for safety reasons I'll wait until TS has tried that, before I have to reinstall everything again :smash:

just rename them to .bak files and you shouldn't have any issues...
