Hey all,

I was playing an english long campaign and i got a message from france (my allies at the time) saying something like they wanted me to assassinate their faction leader, and if i do they will like me more then they already do...

So, i thought i would, i was thinking maybe it would give my assassin some new skills. So in the next few rounds, i get my assassin to paris and cary out what they wanted me to do .. i kill they guy they wanted me to.

But then i got a message saying france had be destroyed and all that rubbish about them being once a powerfull nation.

The thing im wondering about is why would france ask me to kill someone if it would destroy them??

Whoah, that's creepy! MAybe the faction heir (isn't it always the heir that calls for the regicide?) was killed in battle after he gave you the mission, but before you completed it?

Just a guess, but the heir may have died between the time he made the request and the time the mission was carried out.

I got that sort of mission also. It is just one of those missions that units other than soldiers. It took the form of a message by the heir that his doddery Dad needed taking out for some sort of reward.

I got that request from the Prince of the Milanos while playing as France, so I sent my troops down and killed the king. The prince wasn't very happy with me though.

You need to assassinate him, not coincidentally bump him off while taking over some of his territory. No wonder the heir wasn't pleased with you: you just stole part of his inheritance.

Hmmm, national assisted suicide?

rofl - bet the father wasn't too happy about that.

It's intersting that the game doesn't cancel the mission on the heir's death though...

How many cities did they have? Usually the game tries to maintain a certain generals to settlement ratio through adoptions and such. If they had more than 1 city left, you must have struck at a particularly fortuitous time.
