View Full Version : Why hello there...
Hi, long time Medieval fan (I got Medieval: Total War a few years ago), semi-lurker and first time poster. I recently bought Medieval II and have been enjoying it so far, but once in a while my game just crashes without warning... So yeah. :sweatdrop:

Hi there and welcome,
May I suggest that, if you have a Nvidia Geforce graphics card, that you try setting your anti-antilizing to 2x. It stopped me from having regular crashes to desktop. If that does not work then another suggestion would be that you attempt to install older drivers for your card. There was a post in the M:TW forum a couple of weeks ago instructing one how to do this (link (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1386279&postcount=2)). Good luck and welcome again. Cheers.
Oh sorry, I just noticed now that you mean M2:TW when you talk about the CTDs. Sorry, but that guide is only relevant to M:TW. Apologies again.
Thanks for the welcome.
Actually it's not a problem, since the random crashes happens with both games, so any of the guides are useful to me.
I'm using an ATI, rather than Nvidia, but I suspect the random crashes could be caused by two things, the first being I'm running M:TW on Windows XP Pro or that my computer is a dual core, which I've read somewhere (Multi-core article on Wikipedia, I think), could be the cause of the random crashing.
I'm not really a tech-wiz, so I could probably way off the target.

Hi! Welcome.
Have fun but remember, keep away from the camels - several of our members and even staff are thought to be camels. They are bitter about it.

Don't listen to me.
Welcome to the Org, DanVR! I wish you luck with your CTD problems -- if anyone can help you, though, it's the good folks in the Apothecary.

And what, might I ask, is wrong with being a camel?? :whip: Don't make me come over there!
