Can't even install

R:TW re-instaled, patched to 1.3, patched to 1.5, EB08-setup started, runs and... fails. Claims I'm missing a file in my Aplication Data folder... file's eb08take2.msi

Tried downloading it again, still he same result... what's up?

What is that file? Is it an EB one? I don't know of it.

Dave, it's something about the way this installer unpacks - I don't know the details but I know this issue has come up before.

Anybody else had this experience? Any ideas on how to fix it?

If thats your error message, Lusitan, then have a look in your Documents and Settings folder. The EB install sometimes generates a new user folder, something like :user name or ~user name.

You should make a sticky thread, Lusitan is the fifth (including myself) who reports this and i bet a lot of the "corrupted download?" threads are about the same problem ( just without the "magic" word eb08take2.msi).

If I'm not mistaken: the installer simply installs some of the files that it needs to enable itself to unpack there, (just like you need to do when you want to use Vercingetorix tools), and then unpacks the whole lot to your predefined target folder (your RTW vanilla one), and after all that it should remove this temporary folder.

A bit like Winzip, which uses a Temp folder when you create a new winzip archive.

Got it - the instaler wont recognize the letter í .

You´ll find the unpacked EB installer in the c:\Documents and Settings\"?"user name\Application Data\Europa Barbarorum\install\ folder, run it, install, enjoy! ~D

Yeah, we should do something different with the installer on our patch; maybe even redoing the 0.80 one? But we only have a couple of guys who can really do that I think.

I got a problem installing v0.8...

When I get to the "Extracting files from archive"-part the whole thing stops after i get to 28 marks, it have stod there for hours but nothing is happening. Anyone got a solution?

Just stops??? ~:confused: Seems like there's somthing wrong with your installer then; so the only thing would be to redownload & try again with another clean RTW (patched to 1.3, and then patched to 1.5) folder (because the one you used first appears to messed up already.) If you got a feel like 'that can't be' give the Europa Barbarorum subforum a very thorough read: you'd be amazed to see what has come up so far, and how many people get all sorts of errors during the installation process. (So, whatever might be your problem/solution, could already have been solved somewhere else on these forums...)

How much room do you have left on your hard drive? That might be the issue.

I've 7.75 gig free so thats probably not the issue
