I am afraid not. The starting characters are historical, but it is impossible to determine the name of any newborn characters, and even if that was possible, giving them appropriate traits would be a hell of a job. Anyway, EB is about recreating history, and there would have been no Hannibal had his father been slain in the Punic wars.

There are some names mixed into EB, so there is a chance you will get A Caesar, but not THE Caesar. I adopted a guy with the last name of Caesar because of his name, even though he sucked. :juggle2:

I also have a Marivs family.

shame :sweatdrop:

would it not be possible to make a script to add all there's people in by adoption?

and may there be a chance of it happening in MTW2 ver of EB

(sorry trying to add some attitude to the EB forum)

It really isn't possible, since like Ludens says, what if Hamilcar Barcar died before his wife/mistress/local whore has his kid?

Well, as Ludens said EB is about recreating history and that means "new" names , too. Though I have to admit that I once had an Alexandros in my macedon campaign and I tried everything to make him a great general, but he simply
sucked. At least he died at the age of 32...

No, but you could try and "raise" a Hannibal or a Caesar with the appropiate "education".

That "roleplay"`s one of the central ideas of EB  .

Cheers!

1) I don't think so. It is possible to script named characters to spawn at a certain time and place, but I am not sure if they will be family members. Anyway, this isn't a very realistic way of representing it: would these men be the same if history was changed? Would they have even been born? I don't think so.

2) There is indeed. As yet, Europa Barborum 2 is still a concept, but I think the team is only waiting for the proper modding tools to be released.

It must be possible to spawn characters somehow. I played the BareBones Total War mod before EB 0.8. It also contained a background script. In that mod, Pyrrus (or however you spell it) would ‘spawn’ in Italy a few years into a roman campaign. He came complete with a kick ass army and eight or so command stars. He was part of the ‘Greek City States’ faction, however. Not sure if you had control of him if you played that faction. I never did.
