Query: Mods

I guess im sort of a vet. but i never bothered with mods before.... I played rome for very little and i dont even know if there were mods for the original MTW... anyway here is my question: do u guys have a mod that ud specifically reccomend for both m2tw and rtw...
So far ive tried lands to conquer and Titles, Bishops, Princesses, Privy Council Mod v1.3 but couldnt manage to get them to work at the same time so im downloading another mod with Titles, Bishops, Princesses, Privy Council Mod v1.3 already inside....

For RTW:

if you want to play as romans, use SPQR mod (its the best if you play as romans)

if you want to play as anything else, I think EB and RTR are the best


in M2TW:

there arent really any major mods yet, but for bugfixes and better AI, use the lite mod, and Ultimate AI 1.1

Also the weather mod and the skin mod are good for eye candy.

For Mtw2 there some pretty good mods like Darthmod lite and winning combo mod. You should give thouse a try.~:)

RTR 5.4 is the one I enjoyed the most. I never tried v6.0. I think I heard someone was working on v7.0 now but you'd need to check in the RTW section to find out.

MTW2 mods are a bit harder to reccomend. There are some good mods out there but there is no one single best yet IMO from reading all the descriptions and posts. No real standardization so it seems like everyone has one, which is cool and all, but often they have changes I dont care for. So I'm waiting for the MTW2 Realism (or whatever its being called) to come out. I think once Patch v1.2 comes out we'll see even better mods than before. Just a hunch on my part anyway.


Note: In no way am I trying to diss on the MTW2 modders with my comments. I think its great they are doing what they are doing and fully respect and support them. I just havent found one I personally like 100% yet.

That's right. The most recent playable RTR is RTR Platinum Edition, which ports the RTR 6.0 game over to the 1.5 RTW engine.

A big thumbs up for RTR for RTW - it's easily the best TW mod i've ever played (i'd get into EB but it looks, to be honest, utter rubbish at high resolutions, and i can't be bothered persevering when i have so many other things to play :laugh4: )
