Hi guys,

Just a quick question referring to the leader of the army in battle mode.

I seem to have no control over which unit my leader is apart of, it always seems to be something like archers when I would prefer calvery.

So is there any way of being able to select what unit my leader goes into before/during a battle?

For online/custom battles your leader is the first unit you chose.
In campaign, your heir becomes the first unit you build after he comes of age.

To expand on Soul-san's second comment:

In campaign mode, your leader is your best general. In the event that you have several generals of equal skill (or just a brand new army with all generals at level 0), the leader will be the unit that's closer to the start of the unit list, just like in multiplayer (MP) or custom games . In the campaign mode, you can reshuffle an army's internal order by clicking on the army to select it, dragging a unit out of the menu bar near the bottom of the screen, and dropping the unit on the army piece: this way, it becomes the "first" unit of the army, like in MP.

BTW, an archer isn't that bad a general unit; he can make himself useful without being in mortal danger.

Excellent, dan-sama! Thank you, on behalf of the entire Dojo (yes, we the people http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif). Now it can be said that we really are back in business.
