Yes, I am thinking of a mod set in the time period around 1066. Personally I don't think the Prologue campaign covers it that well. This mod would have a completely reworked map focused on the British Isles, Normandy and Parts of Norway. Britain would be divided into lots more provinces, making it hard to conquer, and so would Norway and Normandy.

There would be four factions, The Normans, The Saxons, The Vikings and The Scots.

Units would change a bit, perhaps, but they would mostly stay as the bog standard early era military in M2TW vanilla with perhaps a bit more variety.

Historical Events would include King Edward dying and Harold taking the throne etc.

Sound good? It does to me. ;)

I thought the tutorial campaign was highly historically inaccurate. Any improvement on this would be great.

Of course it was, it was a simplification purely for the purpose of, er, tutorials.
Well, it was very very broadly historically accurate, in a "the normans beat the saxons and established a new regime" sense, but you really can't expect accurate details in a tutorial.

On the other hand, this is a fantastic little campaign for a mini-mod and with a little tweaking of units and some work it'll be a hell of a mod.

Can I suggest for factions; England (Harold), England (Edgar), Normandy, Norway, Denmark, Scotland, Gwynedd, Powys, Deheubarth, Britanny, the Isles, and perhaps Strathclyde, Flanders and the Irish Kingdom(s)?

Perhaps Edward the Exile/Edgar Aethelings' house doesn't require a seperate faction, but they should be taken into account somehow. They're both characters whose importance in the war is often neglected.
