I am heading back to school for another semester of academic goodness :D

Is anyone else here going to school? If so, is this you first time, your second, or what have you?

This is my second, I think I am crazy to go back :P

Going back to school on Monday  Its been a long winter vacation, and I've become quite adjusted to waking up at the crack of noon.

Oh well, come early May and I'll be out of School Again.

What did you study in the summer months of Left School?

:laugh4:

Well, as the history books will show, the summer of '76 was one of the hottest on record for the UK. I completed my education by studying Chesters Dark Mild in the Gypsys Tent in Bolton, Boddingtons 'headbanging bitter' in the St. Annes Tavern, St. Annes Square, Manchester and last and not least Theakstons Best Bitter in the Gooseye Inn, near Keighley, West Yorks.

BTW I got straight 'A's

Ahhh...1976. Studying overseas in Seoul - Majored in Hite Stout, and Minored in International Military Relations. Non-degree programs, I received a "Present for most sessions" grade.

Best of luck to all entering/continuing in Academia. ~

I am a student of the School of Hard Knocks & Painful Dings Academy. I'm currently focusing on an interpersonal relationship skills degree in the criminal justice system. It's a "25 year minimum" core curiculum, and I have 1 year 11 months 19 days till graduation, not that I'm counting.~;)

In 1976 I was studying potty training (I’m almost finished with the lessons :laugh4: ).

Aside from a seminar here or there I have no real desire to go back to school… ever. :knight:

Started uni in 1988 (18 yrs old). Quit after 3 months because working in a bar was so much fun. Joined the army, completed contract 1993, started working for a bank. Took courses on and off part time. Eventually received BCom in 2003, probably breaking the record for the world's most protracted undergrad degree.

I remember those student days... ahhh...

Wake and bake at 12:30 ~;) , watch tv while eating breakfast. Go to a lecture, come home and play chess or brag or backgammon until the evening. Then go and get pissed....

And here I am in a suit, in an office ~:(

I stretched out full time education til I was 22, becoming a qualified pharmacist. Alas, the job REALLY didn't suit me, so I've spent the next few years doing INTERESTING things instead, eventually going back to "school" with a few Open University courses. But school's never out, really; once you stop learning, you stop growing.

BTW Pharamcy is a tough course - 9am lectures every day of the course, no "crack of noon" days for trainee chemists

Personally piano, guitar, and composition. But my main direction is production ('m kind of an all-round balanced artist). About the fun: it could've been, but colleges in here just suck, as they've a bad system mainly aimed at squeezing money outta ya.

How do you have 3 F's, one being a zero? I never understood how anyone could fail a class. I can get a C and do minimal to no work.

We don't even need Fs here in australia :laugh4:

This is slightly off topic, but i've never understood why the american system ignores the bell curve and introduces Fs.'

On topic, it's amazing how many talented people are here posting at a games forum.....that or those who aren't are just smart enough not to post :laugh4:

Minimal to no work got me As all the way until upper sixth. Chemistry and maths in lower sixth were a bit tricky though.

The only time it made me giggle was when I got an A* in geography and all those girls who worked so so hard (and showed off about it) only got Bs.

Upper sixth was a lot of work though, to be fair. My friends who tried pulling off the no-work thing ended up with Cs.

Second semester, freshman IT major. I have mixed feelings about my continuing education. I like computers and IT stuff, but a) I don't know if I want to work with it, b) I like history more, though I don't know if it's as a hobby or more like a career, c) I have half a mind sometimes to join the military...

Yep, despite previous years of education and educating I am back in school. 630 hours of German Language mandated by the government here.

It is interesting in some ways. Most of the students are from former communist countries. A large number are Muslim. Too bad we can't converse yet…but maybe by June or so.

Russian Engineers, Serbian Police, Vietnamese from Hanoi, Nigerians, Iraqis and Iranians…And a couple of Americans……..but no War has broken out…how about that!

Well, I've been proud (and still am) but that shame icon was more intended as a "down" icon like "Oh brother, this is not good, why'd I go there?" for lack of a proper icon. But the main time I've been proud regarding conservatory was when I got in, but then things went downhill (less motivation for instance). Would've been better if I kept on doing my own thing music-wise and just went to another school like... Linguistics, or Philosophy, Sociology, or something.

Some people there in the conservatory told me I didn't fit the system. Then I told 'em the system didn't fit ME! :laugh4:

Ah the beauty of the musical world, not elitist at all. My sisters fiancee used to be one of the best hornplayers in the world, played in the Amsterdam concerthall on many occasions, but he insisted on developing a heartcondition after his brother decided to do a Herman Brood interpetation. He worked very hard to develope a new technique, and he succeeded, and was axed by just about everyone in the scene, and now he refuses to play altogether.
