What are Referrals?

What are these Referrals? I just noticed it.

This may be wrong now, but back in the day referrals were an optional element of the forum software whereby new members had the option at Registration of entering the name of a current member who's influence had brought them to the forum, and that member would get their Referrals count incremented by 1. :book:
