Sorry if this has been brought up before. I searched, but didn't find anything.

The problem is, that in the localized versions of mtw2, the generals only give full speeches for your "home" faction, e.g. when you have the german version only the HRE will give full situational speeches, while EVERY other faction only gives one-liners. This wasn't mentioned anywhere before release, and if i had known this i'd have imported the original version, although that's quite difficult these days.

Anyway, as i doubt that CA will fix this, would it be possible for some friendly modders to provide a fix for this, exchanging the localized voice files with the original english ones? I don't know anything about modding, but i guess it wouldn't be that difficult or time consuming. The download would be massive, but that's what BitTorrent is for.

Check the Xenophonia (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73078&page=9) mod - it adds the original English, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian voices to their respective factions - might be a bit of a hassle to install for non-english versions, but from what I can say from playing with an English version, it's a must have...

At first I hadn´t noticed, playing the HRE (I´ve got the German version), but trying a custom battle as France, you´re right, no elaborated speech. It´s quite a cheat to those not having the English version, in my opinion.
Maybe I should get an English copy, there are cheap ones on E-bay. But then again, does the English version have full speeches for every faction (or at least the factions playable from the start)?
