View Full Version : Honour, morale?

Column no. 41 in the unit prod file contains this sort of value: HONOUR_LEVEL(0)

Column no. 19 "Moral Bonus Integer" contains single numbers.

I am wondering which of these two is the "Excellent Morale" or "Poor Morale" represented on a unit's info parchment? I had assumed "honour" to be "valour" but I can't see a unit starting with an +8 hidden valour bonus!? Units such as the Nizari do. The morale column also doesn't correspond to a unit's info parchment. Muwahid Foot Soldiers have "Excellent Morale" IIRC, but their morale field is empty, yet in column 41 : HONOUR_LEVEL(4). Is this a hidden valour bonus that is, in turn generating the usual attack/defence/morale bonuses?

Confused, thanks for any replies. ~

Its based on column 41. Muwahid has "good morale" which is the same as morale 4. Im not sure if column 19 is used for anything.

Any possibility that one column is for the campaign and the other is for multiplayer balancing?

The VI_Army_Builder.exe (as used by multiplayer fans) appears to be reading morale values from column 41.

Meanwhile, as seen by Gnome, there are certain oddities: -

Highland Clansmen.....get a 2 in col. 19 but a zero in col 41
Religious Fanatics......get a 4 in col. 19 but an 8 in col 41
Urban Militia.............get a -2 in col. 19 and a zero in col. 41
Almughavars............get a -2 in col. 19 and an 8 in col. 41
Abyssinian Guard...............0.........................6
(various) Mounts...............1.........................blank

I've just picked ones with odd-looking combinations of values, to illustrate the point but have no idea what to make of these, yet.
