Here is the problem, i have a very low global reputation through a little bit of sacking, but i have a problem in trying to raise the way i am perceived just so i can get a bit of diplomacy done and some ceasefire.

So I'm just wondering if any one has a good/quick way of raising the reputation meter with out cheating.

I have tried releasing prisoners all the time and occupying cities but i have not seen a change in my reputation yet.

So any tips would be great

Always occupy cities and release/random prisoners. Thats really the main thing.
Never attack a neutral or an ally and if you agree to something in diplomacy, keep to it.

That's really all that is needed to keep it up. Doing that lets me stay between very reliable to trustworthy, but TBH its not really worth the effort as it seem to have a very minor impact on diplomacy only. people still want half your empire for a ceasefire.

I have managed to get my reputation up to VERY Trustworthy with:

As sed abowe:
-always Occupaying settlement (eaven Rebels)
-always releasing prisoners

But i also:
-only siegen settlement never attacked them, only defending the sige
-having 3 alies who were also alies betwen them
-my stands with them was ALWAYS at least Outstanding

AND WHEN I NOTICED THE BEST INCRESE WAS WHEN I FOUGHT BATTLES WITH MY ALIES TOGETHER!!
I did it like that, when my alies enemy (not mine until then) lets say sieged my alies province (city, castle) i standed my army close to the city and when they attacked from the siege my troops automaticaly engaged in battle ,so i auto declared war and my reputation INCREASED :)
It also works when you bring your troops and attack them while they are laying siege, then your alies will help you defend them, rep. also increases :egypt:

My rep never increased from helping allies. And that was when it was still "mixed" and I aided an ally in taking towns 3 times.

Well, chivalry and honor are admirable traits but given a choice between having people's love or fear... choose fear. I sack and execute and destroy factions and other nations have no problems keeping their alliances with me or their overall attitudes about me.

Mind you I've never initiated any war but rather tempt others to attack thinly garrisoned cities/towns and then counteracted with my full stacks hidden a day's march away. Other people get untrustworthy and me I'm just defending myself, right?

You need to be careful making alliances. Idealy you hsould always be the victim of them being broken, never the instigator.

Never be allied with the enemy of your ally.
