I believe this is an old thing which pops up anyway, it's not the EB Marian Reforms. From the EB FAQ sticky:

At least year 172BC, have 6 Latifundia built, hold at least 45 settlements, fight more than 250 battles and have a character that is:

Intelligent/Charismatic/Vigorous
Popularis
Consul or Ex-Consul
Has Influence and Command > 2

OR just conquer 90 settlements.

Sass, the Marian Reforms message that pops up, usually in the 250s or 240s, is a message from Vanilla. This is corrected in 0.81.

Just a heads up - when you receive the Polybian reform it will not automatically change your units. They will only appear when you upgrade your recruitment structure.

Yeah i got that pop up..But i used a money trainer and got all the upgrades pretty fast..so all my settlements the main ones well Ie. All of italy is fully upgraded..I think its in the 260s now lol and Still the same Old Units?? I think there is a bug..SOmeone said conqure 90 provinces are you Kidding!! the game would be half over before u got to use any of romes main units LOl what would the point of that be?

The unit contrution times need to be cut..36 turns for a building? what AI faction is gonna be able to offord such a building or even consider building it? I and alot of thers Can barly Stumic units and buildings that take more then 1 to 2 turns..much less 36 lol:no: Most use money cheats at this point i played the Iron man rules like back in 04 in the unmod game..

Please tell me the steps needed for the reforms and legions to be made..IF the first reply to my post is true that is out of this world Half the game is over by the time most people can get that many provinces or meet any of the other reqirements..

Alittle Info would be helpful thanks:whip:

If you upgraded your MICs (barracks) all the way, then you will have to tear them down and build new ones once you get the Polybian Reform in order to get new units. Marian MICs are placed by script and are a separate building tree, so no worries there.

As far as getting the Marian Reform, 90 settlements is the "OR" requirements. For the AI and in case all of your generals suck. See 2nd post /\

There is a Camilian Era "building" in the Roman starting cities (and a few random places), once you get the Polybian Era "building" you have to upgrade your factional MICs (red barracks) in your starting cities one level to get the new units.

Polybian reform occures 242BC.
