You learn the damnedest things reading Wikipedia. Ever since I first saw the movie, Ghostbusters, I thought Stay Puft marshmallows, and the company's mascot, the Pillsbury Doughboy-like sailor, were real. I would have sworn I had seen the mascot years before the movie was made.

Thinking that to be true made the scene in the film that much funnier to me, but now I admire the writers and designers for developing such a believable pop icon.

For those of you not familiar with it, here's a link.

Did anyone else think the product and character were real?

You certainly do. For example, that someone actually thought it was worthwhile writing an entry on a character in Ghostbusters. :dizzy2:

There much, much less worthwhile things on wiki than that.

Ghostbusters is worth much time and effort.

I sorta thought it was a real brand. Oh well.
