View Full Version : It's just not cricket anymore.

I am worried about the state of cricket after Australia's comprehensive thrashing of England in Australia recently. Just yesterday, England was dismissed in a one day match for 110. As an Australian, I haven't seen a decent cricket contest in ages. England is second in the rankings of test playing nations, yet they still got comprehensively slaughtered 5-0. Australia's continued dominance looks like it is ruining the state of cricket around the world. Australia has demolished England's morale, and they just don't think they can win anymore.
Does anyone agree?

I love the way you disguise this "Nah nah out team is better than yours" post as a serious question about the state of cricket today :bounce:

No, I actually go for England. I'm not boasting about Australia being the best, I am saying that if they continue at this level, one will have to wonder whether its ruining cricket in other countries. I mean, who would be inspired to play cricket for England after seeing ther side lose the Ashes 5-0. I am an Australian, but I'm not going for Australia.
Now I'm probably going to get jumped on by other Aussies. :help:

Change the balls to grenades. That'll get America to join.

England have been poor at OD cricket for quite some time.

You must be young if 18 months seems like ages.

England are not ranked second for ODI, so that bit is irrelevant. In the Ashes series England played below par and had some significant injuries. Australia played out of their skins. The bit about morale is true, but easily fixed with a few key changes in leadership. England, Pakistan and India all have good players: don't worry Australia will be losing a series to someone soon.
I accidentely saw it
And:
Australia isn't ruining Cricket ... England is just bad at it
