View Full Version : Triumph question
Okay well, i have conquorer of carthago trait, and it says i need to be named imperator, so i look up the requirements on the traits and ancilles FAQ, i just recently fought two battles vs 1000+ carthaginians, one was heroic, one was clear..... so..... im not really sure why my person doesnt have the imperator trait yet......? its been a year since the battles.

Just keep killing Carthies. A Triump was very hard to get in history*iirc only a handful were given out*, it's hard to get but just keep trying. You'll get it at some point, if you havn't run of out carthagians to kill lol.
Actually, there were a lot triumphs, but that was also an issue of politics.
Days of Thanksgiving were much more numerous and even more political because of the ease of getting them. An example of which was Balbus, who was Caesar's rival and often co-holder of magistrates. He held imperium in Syria before the civil war, lost a battle against rebels, and his buddy Cato (total mentula btw) got him 15(?) days of public thanksgiving.

Cato (total mentula btw)
Totally...He comes off so bad in Ceasar's new biography. There probably wouldn't have been a civil war if not for that guy and his cronies.

I'm having trouble getting one as well. I do like how the conqueror of 'X' and the new last name passes to their oldest son though!

To be precise, to get named Imperator it doesn't matter if you fight carthaginians or some other faction. And it has to be a tough battle, not just one witb a lot of enemies.
well i just got a campaign ending CTD.... so..... yeah, i guess now ill focus on my macedonian campaign..... Lol

Yes.
The only time I've gotten Imperator was one time there was a huge group of rebels in one of my provinces and I didn't want to make or send a bunch of guys over to deal with them. So I sent a lone gereral who IIRC had fought one battle prior and a depleted group of hippies mercenaries and used auto_win. It was a heroic victory and he got Imperator. Never gotten it with anyone else though.
I tried to recreate that once, my Africanus guy had been sitting in Carthage and a rebel group popped up outside. I cheated to give the rebels tons of good units, sent my general after then, and auto won. Didn't work that time...

In my opinion it shouldnt be that hard to get. A heroic victory should be enough. Thats actually hard enough to get if you play VH.

I'm beginning to think they're a little too difficult to get as well. I've tried the 'auto_win' cheat many many times, with no success. I've also done a little research in an attempt to mod my own version. Haven't had any real luck in finding how to do it exactly, but I did discover one thing. If by some stroke of good fortune you do manage to get a Triumph, it only gives you +3 influence.
So if anyone could point me the right direction for moding the requirement, I'd me most grateful.
Is there any consideration in the trigger requirements for having multiple "Conqueror of X" traits? My main combat general is pushing 61 after taking command of the legions at 16. He's got conqueror of Carthage and Gaul already and is working on conqueror of Germania. Under his leadership, Roma has taken Cisapline Gaul, the Alps, southern Transalpine Gaul, Illyria, Africa from Lepki to Sala, and the Med coast of Iberia. I'm not trying to brag on him, but I think he deserves a bit more recognition than one ovatio at this point :inquisitive:
