Dungeon Keeper 3

Another Sequel to the Dungeon Keeper Simulation, you own a lair and you must look after your minions and take over the other layers and defeat the good people, judging by the trailer, you got to go outside of the underground layer

Cause of Death: Bullfrog shutting down... proberly (Bought out By EA)

Time of Death: ???
Comfirmation of Death: ???
Expected Realease: ???

Evidence of this even existed you ask? on the New disks of Dungeon Keeper 2(EG: Sold out, Mad ETC) theres a trailer of it (not ingame graphics) and at the end it says, Dungeon Keeper III

Knowing the rich, wonderful world from Herbert's Dune books I'm surprised that noone has thought of creating a massively multiplayer game or even better, a roleplaying that would be set in it by now.

The idea of yet another Dune RTS clickfest brings tears to my eyes, seeing that fantastic Dune setting being CUDDLED for the nth time by uninventive and boring people without a true vision of what computer games should be.

The first pic is very nice, though... and the third sent a shiver down my spine - why couldn't that have been a screen from a Dune roleplaying game? Why can't somebody take an inexpensive engine like the one in Morrowind (or create one) and make a mother of a RPG game set in the Dune universe? Or even a KOTOR lookalike...

Don't they see how great an idea that is? I for one would sell my left kidney in order to play something like that!

When I saw this thread only one game came to mind - Harrier 2001. It was a very promising sim for Nintendo 64 back in the day. It was probably my most anticipated game. I'm not sure exactly why it died, I think it was issues between developers Paradigm and publishers Video System. More info and screens can be seen at IGN's site.

It may live again....

I have the DK2 disk sitting on my desk at home (I was looking recently at reinstalling it on XP). On the back of the jewel case is an ad for Shogun:TW. ~D

I think you should be glad it died. I mean it was finished and everything but MGM still killed it. It must really have been a turd. Funny thing is SG1:The Alliance was MGM put-up or shut-up for all the SG1 mods they shut down over the years.

Stars! Supernova Genesis (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/stars-supernova/) -- a multiplayer, turn-based space 4X strategy game. Citing irreconcilable differences, developer Mare Crisium severed their publishing agreement with....I want to say it was Empire Interactive, but I can no longer recall for certain. Unfortunately, MC was never able to land a publishing agreement with anyone else, and it eventually became vaporware.

The game I mourn is Babylon 5: Into the Fire (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/011/011194/imgs_1.html) (screenshots link). It sounded like it was going to be a great space combat simulator based on a great TV show. The show's physics alone would have made it a great game.

Time of Death: September 1999, just months away from its release date. ~:mecry:

Cause of Death: Sierra decided that card games and bull riding simulations were going to be more successful than a game based on B5 and other combat based games.

"The Shadow Threat" video is particularly good, though there are some repeated sequences.
