Recently in my byzantine campaign, I get into the habit of ransoming iraklion and sofia and then selling them back to venice and hungary respectively. But before i sell those settlement i establish ceasefire and trade right. then i do that same process again.

How is that going to effect my reputation attribute?

If you occupy the settlement and make sure to get your troops out of the province/disband them before giving it back you should be okay....

If you gift a territory to somone, and then take it again, you take a reputation hit, because the game considers it breaking a diplomatic agreement, and therefore dishonest.

Never knew that :inquisitive:

How long do you have to wait before it's fair game again?

I'm not sure. Possibly never.

To be safe, I never gift or sell or give away in any shape or form any territory except to factions I've made a vassal or intend to maintain a permanent alliance with.

ok now i managed to bring it down to dispecable, my military power is supreme, so i took advantage of that and demanded single payments of $400 each turn from venice and hungary in return i dont attack there close settlements
