Oh, my dear friends of the org. It seems, that while after uninstalling my game b/c of modding issues and an accidental deletion of my backup files, my cd key is nowhere to be found.
Is there any thing i can do to replace it, be it contact CA or another group and give them the serial number or some proof of purchase? If nothing can be done and all hope is lost, i will buy it again, but i want to make sure that there are no other options before spending another $40 for it.

I don't know about elsewhere, but in the states the CD key is printed on a gummed label that is affixed to the inside of the DVD case that the game came in. I can imagine it coming off.

Look in the case if you still have it.

It´s printed on the backside of the manual (Swe edit)

If you had a legitimate key to start with you'll have no problem reinstalling with it.

I have the U.S. version of the game, but the key is not on the manual or the inside of the box. The original cd key was on a piece of paper but it got thrown out b/c my parents thought i didn't need it anymore and didn't bother to ask me if i needed it. :furious3: I guess i'll contact CA:shame: :skull:

I also 'lost' my CD key when I came back home from the States earlier this month. I didn't have enough space/weight allowance to take all the cases/boxes of the games I bought with me; so I ditched them at the last minute. It was only when I was already back home in Mexico and installing the game on my gaming computer did I remember that the CD key was on the back of the case and not on the manual...

Quick call to my brother got it sorted out; if I had waited a day more, it would have been thrown out and really lost... so I feel your pain.

I'm almost sure there is not a thing CA can do as it Sega who owns/leases the rights to thier work. There are some game publishers that charge a processing fee for a new DVD key.

The best thing to do is contact Sega, and say you had bought the DVD within the last 90 days but it wont work, You send them the DVD plus a small handling charge and then they send you back DVD and a new DVD key

You most certainly must resort to sailing the high seas my friend. It is still an honorable cause as you only seek to take what is rightfully yours.

We're starting to sail close to the wind, here. To the original poster - good luck getting your key back.
