Hi Guys

Just started playing this :) - how many patches are there for it? So far I've found v1.1. Are there any more?

Cheers

That's it for Medieval, for Viking Invasion there is v2.1.

ok - cheers :)

I've notived the batt;e map tends to sjip a few frames when paused, and selecting units/tragets. Any suggestions here? Or will I just get used to it?

I wanted to know does Viking invasion have its own intro and if it does how can I turn it off?

Hmm, not sure if I've seen what you're referring to. Do you mean that the battle screen moves a couple more frames after you pause and then stops? Or does it just keep moving, period (albeit slowly)?

Welcome to the Org, by the way! ~

Hey Nikpalj, good to see you! Haven't seen you around these parts in a little while. ~

Anyway.... No, VI does not have its own introduction - it's still the same as vanilla MTW. (I'm surprised you don't already have it!)

The skipcredits.txt file in the working directory of Medieval_TW.exe will suffice as ever.

Hey Nikpalj, good to see you! Haven't seen you around these parts in a little while.

Well, you won't believe me... but what did it for me in the end were the awful, bland colors of the MTW strategic map!

I just got soo fed up with spearwalls, vikings and camels that at one point I couldn't make myself fire up MTW one more time and spend hours staring at that vomity brown and sickly green main map anymore. I needed a change, fast!

Had found it in some serious firefights in 1.13 mod for Jagged alliance 2 (heartily recommend the game and specially the mod to everybody!) and the all time favorite - UDM2 mod for Birth of the Federation. Nothing like leading the unstoppable Dominion to victory, not even the crazy Almohads come close... Victory is Life! :beam:

Then I've had some serious health problems and later on I've met a wonderful female on a local board which Ive came into habit of spending hours talking to over the phone, almost every day for a few months now. We've exchanged photos and gentlemen... she is Very CuteTM! :beam:

A few weeks ago one friend told me how great Kurosawa's movies Kagemusha and Ran were, so a few days after that I found myself playing STW again almost against my will. Then I slowly started falling into MTW mood all over again, and thus the circle was complete!

As I've never played RTW Im seriously considering trying my hand at that, but only with one of the mods installed. My comp is more or less the minimum needed for RTW I'll have to find one which isn't too graphically intensive and yet changes the stats and morale of the troops enough for them to stay in the fight longer then half a minute. We'll see...

Had 20 mins of free time here so I thought I'd share a piece of my life with you all - people on this board have always been extremely friendly and polite and I enjoy writing novels of posts so much! :inquisitive:

Thanks for reminding me of the skipcreds trick, I couldn't remember what I'm supposed to do in order to kill the intro...

Yeah, I still haven't gotten around to installing the Dominion mod for BotF yet. :embarassed: Lately, I've been hooked on playing Caravel's Pocket Mod -- when I get the chance to play, that is (and that's not been very often the last couple weeks). :wall:

Sorry to hear about your health problems, man -- I wish you a speedy recovery! (And good luck with the girl.) ~

Hey, it's all good. I suspect most of us have gotten burned out on MTW from time to time, and I'm certainly no exception. We all come back to the game eventually, however -- sometimes we just need a hiatus from it, is all. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder", and all that. ~;) Anyway, welcome back!
