Hmmmmmmmmm, I'm new to the forum, so this may not be in the right place. Please excuse.

I just bought Rome: Total War Gold

I've tried patching it, with no luck. I've then tried to install EUropa mod, but it's having none of it.

I'm thinking that the GOLD edition is different to vanilla R:TW, I know it lives in a different directory.

Can anyone help??

Hi,
My gold installed in C:/Program Files/The Creative Assemby/Rome : Total War. Just point the installer there and away you play. Good luck and cheers!

Gold doesn't need any patches.

I'm sure I tried that, but it was having none of it. I'll have a more concerted effort.

Do you know to what level the GOLD edition is patched?

Gold edition is 1.5 R:TW and 1.6 BI usually. Some are 1.3 R:TW and 1.3 BI however. To check go into options on the main menu. In the top right hand side of the screen there is a number. If it says 1.5 then you don't need to patch it, if it is 1.3 then you do. Good luck.

Try installing patch 1.6, then you're sure to be at the right version#.

To be clear, all versions up through v.74 were for RTW v1.2. With the release of v.80, EB now operates on top of RTW v1.5. There are unofficial "patches" which make it playable on v1.6, but those are currently unsupported by the team.

And original RTW (not expansions) can only go up to 1.5. So if you have anything higher, the original is 1.5.

1.5 to 1.9 = ok for EB0.80
