Third spearman from the left

Hi all EB people
I have a couple of questions about EB which I'm sure have been answered many times, but in my reading on the forum I can't seem to find all the answers. They are as follows,
1. In EB what role do the Senate play if they have no army?
2. Does the Rome have to fight any kind of civil war in EB now?
3. Is v0.8 the latest EB mod and are there any plans for work on BI version EB mod
Thanks for your time.
New RTW Gold edition player close to the end of his first campaign and looking to mod up!
1. In EB what role do the Senate play if they have no army?
None. The Senate not only has no army, it has been removed from the game entirely.
2. Does the Rome have to fight any kind of civil war in EB now?
No, there is no civil war.
3. Is v0.8 the latest EB mod...
Yes
...are there any plans for work on BI version EB mod?
No, extending the mod beyond RTW will not involve BI.
3. Is v0.8 the latest EB mod and are there any plans for work on BI version EB mod
Eb is a mod for RTW 1.5, nevertheless you can play with the bi.exe. Some people sai that the ai is better if you play the mod on with bi.
There is some kind of minimod for eb in the EB unofficial modding subforum, with instrucion how to make eb work on bi.

It`s fairly easy.
You just have to change the path in the shortcut properties, from:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err
to:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err
Cheers.

The Senate faction has been reused to reflect the Saba.

Yes, but the Senate itself is gone.

So I take it that the senate no longer gives missions to the Roman faction either. Also with no civil war does the roman faction not have it a bit easy, even more so when the PM reforms kick in?

Does the roman faction have it easier than in vanilla? I seriously doubt it. The other factions are actually *real* now. Plus instead of some imaginary Roman faction in the south of Italy, you have the real Epeirote faction holding Tarentum. And real Gallic tribes in the north. Try it out. :2thumbsup:

I myself play EB with the bi.exe, and I can guarantee that the AI is better and much more interesting. It does naval invasions too! I've actually seen the Ptolemies and the Carthaginians fighting over Crete, for example, and I've seen Carthage conquer Italy as well, not to mention Spain.

I'll have to give BI a try to see what it looks like.

Cheers. Is this from the EB Icon on the Desktop. Or from a new shortcut? Plus make the change in Target?

No, the only thing you have to change is the path...
The objective is to execute EB in Barbarian Invasion, not in RTW.
So, you have to change the .exe in the EB Shortcut, so that when you click on the shortcut, it directs you to BI and not RTW.
It`s pretty simple.

The man speaketh the truth. EB with the BI.exe is a totally different and much more exciting game. I highly recommend it.

No civilwar in EB is a weakness compared to say RTR:PE Imparetor mod, where there is a dedicated senate revolt fraction that comes up when a rouge general was at, say a remote provence, or a revolting city.
But then again, i understand the weakness of the AI in RTW instead of BI engine, so I doubt the guys here in EB can actually add tha function. BI is a whole new ball park in terms of flexibility.

Which isn't possible in EB because every faction is already taken.

Developing EB, I and all the other guys use 1.5, but I really want to get around to *playing* EB on the bi.exe eventually. Can't wait to try that actually.

What're you waiting on, man? It's a great time. The AI seriously is better.

I don't play the game though except to test things. And since we are developing it for 1.5 I'm not going to test things out on another entire version of the game instead of the one it is based on.
If you're gonna run w/the BI exe, remember to install the RTW 1.6 patch instead of 1.5

So I install RTW, BI, 1.6 then change the shortcut? Wasn´t there a patch before 1.6?

The BI install will patch it up to at least 1.4 (sometimes 1.6 depending on the version). From 1.4 you can install 1.6 directly after BI install.
