Dear honourable EB team,
I'm wondering if there has been any discussion in regards to the Iphikratian hoplites' spear length. As it states in the description, the spears were lengthened to better fight the Macedonians, their burly, uncouth northern neighbors. Now, being a huge fan of the Greeks, I'm wondering if there's any way to reflect that in game, since the Iphikratides hoplitai have the standard length spear. We need a better spear to be more offensive in the pushing match.
Any thoughts?
- With the utmost respect,

No no no, I replied to a post about that, then someone said it was a good idea (I'm clueless) so I wanted to bring it to the forefront, as far as my lowly self can.. :)
But I appreciate the zing!

They're already longer then the average dory. Compare them to the classical Hoplitai.
Regardless, it can't be changed. Spearmen using the RTW phalanx ability can have different lengths: 2, 3 or 5 spearheads pointed forward. But with 5 it becomes a sarrissa in looks and practical purposes.

Plus, the unit roster for the KH isn't finalized yet. I can think of (closes eyes and starts counting...) somewhere between four and six new KH units I've seen already done since 0.80 came out. Those won't be in 0.81 though.

Six new units for KH? You are the sexah, Teleklos. At the same time, you KILL my desire to finish my current campaign... as it will be sooo much cooler with new units.
*eyes Baktria then remembers the nomad boost coming.. and decides to wait..*
Romans! Oh wait... damn you for making this game get better and better on a regular basis!

*Not* for 0.81. No idea when those will get into the game. I have noticed them though (but I think one of those five is an optional unit that Rob might make for a minimod - but it is kick ass). And I think Rob made all five of them (it might be six, but probably just five).

Aye, clear enough, didn't think it was for .81. As it stands I think the Koinon will be glad to receive reinforcements. However, .81 will include a difficulty adjustment, if I'm not mistaken - you will be rearranging garrisons and starting positions slightly, so I'll have to restart a new campaign regardless.
Can't wait to see the new KH units :) I lied. I can wait :)
Are any of these new types of units? I already see too many armies that are too stacked with light or heavy or cavalry type troops, especially early Roman armies. Is there a way to make the AI create more balanced armies?

Yeah, they are all new types I think. We can't wait to get some of them in and try them out ourselves.
