Not to steal the honorable Beirut-san's thunder, but:
you fellas really ought to have a bit more respect for each other. Derailing another member's thread, however playfully intended, is disrespectful, less than honorable, and just downright ill-mannered rude, don'tcha think?
Let's try a little harder to contribute something meaningful to the conversation(s). If funny is the goal, cool. Find a way to be funny within the constraints of the thread, without having to resort to silly peek-a-boos.
OT: I'm a Posty. Been several other things. I do aspire to greatness, though. I hope, on retirement, to open a 3-storefront shop in the ghetto, as a public service: a bar in the middle, a laudromat to one side, a porno-rental shop to the other - with a barber in the corner. This to serve the single, workingman population. I'll call it "Kukri's Korner of peace, love, drunkeness and cleanliness". I figger I'll clean up. :)
okay okay, i'll be serious. sorry BHC if i "derailed" your thread. I didn't mean to be the Amtrak of the org.
Anyway, besides for student and community service to be in the IB program, i work for a local aquatic center timing and organizing events and doing other simple stuff like life guard duty and teaching little kids how to swim. Thought that might get me a little rep with the big man upstairs.

I further his appologies. I am the best student at school (worst overall semester score was a 97%) and the best Person on the Chess team. Only thirteen year old in High School. Some may call me a computer nerd (lets face it...I am) I have, however, been suspended for fighting a sophomore (I somehow one) which sucks, cause I will have alot of work to make up for on monday.
your worst semester grade is a 97 yet you spelled "one" wrong. its won. anyway, good job getting those grades. dont feel bad about the nerd or geek part, everyone has a little of it inside them.

yes...I spell alot worse whe i type as I generally put alot less thought into it
I can stand up for Motep's spelling, by saying that being smart is draining.
Well I have been in the Army, currently printing checks for banks, and soon - hopefully finalized by Tuesday/Wednesday I will be working for the Railroad. Edit: Forgot the job will be Maintaining the Track.

I am a Personal Assistant to the managing director of a large car company. It's a very exhausting job looking at a PC all day. However it pays the bills and gives me plenty more cash to live upon.
I kill trees, write for a newspaper, and build log homes.
I want to quit the tree kiling this year or next. Getting tired of it. I hate trees. I really do. :brood:

Surely if you hate trees, killing them is cathartic? You need love in your heart, to embrace the trees, be one with them. :hippie:
Oh, I'm a writer too. :stupido:
I study, or at least I am supposed to...
In my spare tume I am a voulunteer at a wildlife rescue center.
I eat pie...duh
Not as much as I do!

No, I hate them. When I look at them all I think of are the great burdens of noise, heavy lifting, and hours of toil and sweat.
Nothing but rats with leaves.
Oh, I'm a writer too. :stupido:
Glad to be in good company. :stupido::whip: "Beirut! Deadline!" (my editor)
Work at an internet mail order service, where we sell nutrition supplements, sporting ingredients, and poison and such :laugh4: And I'm a student of course.

Oh it sure does and the retirement plan beats Social Security by a long shot.

:laugh4:
Oh you wouldn't be laughing if you knew exactly the difference. Its a completely seperate system from social security and done by the railroads secured by the government I beleive. I will be exempt from Social Security taxes, but will have to pay the higher Railroad Retirement tax.
Got to pay slightly more into it, but it seems more secure then Social Security.

Hmm, ever considered moving to the Sahara? (http://www.mccullagh.org/db9/1ds-4/sahara-desert-sand-dune.jpg)
I work with a notary.
A notaris-notaire-notar is a jurist/lawyer/attorney/legal-expert (but he doesn't conduct lawsuits) working in the areas of real estate, corporate law, family law (mostly divorces and heritages) and seizure (hope this is the correct term).
A notaris-notaire-notar is an independent jurist as well as a functionary. The documents made by a notaris are executable, like judgements are.
Part of the job consists of mediation, trying to make parties agree about certain issues and thus avoiding law suits.
Well, this is what I do in a nutshell, I hope it's clear. The profession is quite complicated and covers a broad area, so it's not easy to explain in a few sentences.
The Belgian notary can be compared with the French notaire and the German notar. The profession should not be compared with the Anglo-American "notary public".
I hope to be a notary myself one day. So other AndresTheCunnings can be my slaves :whip:

I'm primarily a student, and should be getting my BA either in December or a year from May, then on to more schooling though I don't know where.
I pay my room and board by working as a Resident Advisor in campus housing and get my miscellaneous income working as a consultant in the school's Writing Center.
Someday I hope to be teaching, though my dream job would be working as a historical consultant in the movie or game industry.

I'm a student and work part-time at a super market. Though next year once school is finished I'm going to work my but off (probably take on several jobs) and hopefully save up enough money to get me overseas. :2thumbsup:

Motive: Conscription got me started, I'd get good pay, great job security, and there isn't much to do here, if I wanted more money and job security, I'd need to move to L.A. and work for an Armenian crime syndicate, so I think I'm fine.

Fascinating. Kind of like Heinlein's Professional Witnesses (in his Stranger in a Strange Land, Jubal, the crotchety old lawyer/doctor character, kept 2-3 women on retainer who, when they donned their official robes, kept scrupulous record of what they saw, heard, tasted, physically felt, and smelt... the better to report to a court what actually occured in a given time and place. Sort of a cross between a court-reporter, a (US) notary, and an 'expert witness').
There is certainly a need for such a functionary in today's world of spin, bias and public relations.
English assassin: I'm a lawyer. Reading this post has just cost you £50 plus VAT. I'll send you my bill shortly.
LoL. You sell yourself cheap, here (SoCal, US). $250 (about £130) per 'billing hour' is the norm - a billing hour being whatever seconds, moments and/or minutes of any particular hour an attorney's attention is directed to his/her client's concerns . I'm pretty sure Pindar will back this assertion.

I mostly sell people stuff they don't need, over the internet thingy, but at very good prices. Then I also have to double as customer service manager, despatch clerk, and general IT troubleshooter. I fritter away the company's broadband fees on inappropriate posts to the org! Oh and I swear at customers a lot, but only AFTER I've put the phone down (mostly :embarassed: ).
