The Five Fuels of the Revolution

Hugo Moyer Agostini

In general, motors will not run without fuel. It is the same with constitutional motors, they need adequate hydrocarbons. So, what could these fuels be? (1) Tell the truth and be loyal to the leader. (2) Pulverize beauracracy and corruption. (3) Increase the abilities of the government. (4) Govern with and for the people and (5) Reduce poverty and increase happiness. These fuels can be used alone or in a mix. Why five? Five, because like the north american pentagon or the geometric figure which forms the star of David, it is the Cabbalistic number of the bolivarian revolution. I have long been convinced of this. Five, because we are determined to triumph: peacefully, quickly, fundamentally, equally [in a balanced manner], and proportionally. Five, like the Fifth Republic, the five constitutional powers and the five nations who Simon Bolivar helped liberate. Five are the fuels which we recommend to those assigned the high responsibility of turning on, guarding, and keeping the five constitutional motors in tune. But in order to start these motors we need a favorable spark. The people-- organized, aware of its power and its wisdom, through the Community Councils and diverse forms of democratic, protagonistic, well-deserved participation-- can serve as the instrument of ignition or as catalysts of the launching process of the five proposed constitutional motors. The role of President Chavez has been to flip the switch and press down on the accellerator. Because motors do not start up alone. Someone has to ignite them. And, we repeat: Without fuel constitutional motors will not function. These five [fuels] which we now suggest, we know, are not the only ones. We wish to collaborate, with all our efforts, so that the five motors fire up; hoping that they will not overheat, nor backfire, nor drip oil onto the road. So that we will not have to change them or throw them out, [we must] keep them well tuned and allow for change in speed, and it will not be necessary to fix them or turn them off before their time. In this way we can arrive successfully at our socialist and bolivarian destination. We are convinced that, if we proceed in this way, and if we use and adequately mix the fuels we have suggested in their respective motors, we will avoid unnecessary noises and explosions-- from the one side as much as the other-- for the good of all Venezuelans and foreigners who wish to live together, happily, in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Five, because like the north american pentagon or the geometric figure which forms the star of David...

Is it just me, or is the columnist suggesting that the star of David has five points? :dizzy2:

At any rate, this article is an excellent example of the intellectual bankruptcy of Chavez's New Order. It is made up of one long, poorly constructed paragraph, and rambles on and on about the most childishly simple attributes of internal combustion engines without ever saying anything substantive about politics or policy.

An embarrassment.

EDIT: Typo

Huh. That looks like something that might actually work if delivered with gusto by a Great Leader (or Orator anyway - the two rarely mix...) to huge crowds from atop some suitably impressive soap box.

As is it now it looks more like some kind of dadaist novel.

You know, the kind Bush and Rumsfield used to like reading out in public.
