Hey all,
I'm usually a shopper at the new Walmart of the internet, Newegg, but I've recently had to upgrade my power supply (again, I didn't do it right the first time:embarassed: ). I'm part of a small community of hardware geeks who set me right up with a good PSU model that would hold me over for the next few years (and for under 150 USD too). Unfortunately, the 'egg didn't carry it.
(The small band of hardware geeks can be found here- www.jonnyguru.com )
The links I was provided with from the main man Jonny himself were to a little known hardware shop called Deadeyedata. Not only did they carry the PSU I wanted, but they had other models of PSU's for anywhere from 20-50 dollars cheaper than newegg. Sounds like a great deal so far, but some people would pay that extra money for the piece of mind of going with a hardware shop they know.
Well anyone needing a vouch for deadeye data can stop by Jonnyguru.com, and also feel free to stop by for help with hardware in your PC in general. While Jonny's specialty is PSU's, some of us other geeks specialize in CPU's Mobo's, and GPU's.
Why would you stop by Jonnyguru? Well register at Jonnyguru (which is the same as registering here, entirely free) and get another 8% off of any SilverStone PSU at Deadeye data. Any of you who know much about PSUs will know the name SilverStone. That 8% is usually enough to cover shipping, so you get the best prices on the best PSUs in the market for free shipping.
To get the 8% after registering at Jonnyguru, just go to the "Hot Deals" section. There is a sticky post that explains the discount, and links you to DeadeyeData (you need to use the link to get the discount).
Just thought I'd spread the good word, since the prices of 8800's are dropping. Most gamers will probably be eying the prices of those things like no other, and they have a hefty power requirement. Not only that, but PSUs are a lot more complicated than an overall wattage rating, and a cheap quality PSU will fry your computer.
