Not sure if this has been reported yet, but ran into a pair of bugs in my recent game, vanilla M2TW, no patches.

First, I was siegeing Scottish held Edinburgh. He had counter spies so I decided to just siege the city with a ram and not use any spies. His ballista towers were tearing my ram up so I sent a unit of peasants on ahead to act as a human shield. I got to the gate and starting bashing it. Before I broke through though, my men took control of the gatehouse, from the outside. WTF? I found this strange so I reloaded the battle and sent a single unit of peasants right up to the gates. Same results, they took control of the gatehouse from the outside. I tried doing the same thing with towers but only got it to work on gatehouses. Before:

A minor exploit perhaps, since you still need siege equipment before you can initiate battle.

After taking Edinburgh, I went to checkout the defenses of Inverness and found it completely defenseless. I thought the AI kept at least one unit of troops in each city? Even the rebels do that. But I marched right into the city with one unit and took it without a fight:
