View Full Version : Viewing Wonders in custom battles

I've managed to be able to view at least some of our new wonders when in battlemap mode during the campaign (no idea why some work and some don't, I've defined them all as offmap models).

Anyway, when I create a custom battlemap (for custom battles or historical battles) the wonder is no longer there. I only need them in the distance, not on the actual tile.

Any ideas? I've never fully grasped this area of modding - and yes, I have looked through all of the tutorials but am probably just being dense :idea2:

Anyone give any help here?

I've had some success and can now view wonder models on distant tiles on a historical battle battlemap. Applying the same process to a battle-editor-generated custom battle still draws a blank though. Very strange - it should work the same way...

I think Custom Battle maps only record the ground shape coordinates in the map.rmw and not coordinates of cities, etc, since you can use the coordinate of a city in the Editor. So you'll have no manually put the models in it.

It is not possible to place models in the distance view. Looking at the files the map generated by the Editor for a CB seems little different from that generated by the Editor for a HB. But a difference there must be...the 2 should work the same as far as I can see.
