Can I set RTW up to where I can hit a button on my keyboard and it takes a screen shot automically and saves it for me? Cause in mid battle I take a cool screeny and forgot to save it after the battle.

Print Screen takes screenies.

Saves them in the RTW folder called tgas.

In the RTW folder.

Hi Nik00117 and welcome,
To take screenshot you have to press the "Print Screen" key which is located in the top of the section between the numeric pad and the letter keys. The screenshot is then stored in either "C:/Program Files/Activision/Rome - Total War/tgas" if you have standard R:TW (not Gold) and in "C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/tgas" if you do have Gold.

After that you may notice that you cannot open these files. To open them you need to covert them to jpgs or a similar format using this program (http://www.imageconverterplus.com/download/). Instructions for it's use can be found here (http://www.imageconverterplus.com/help-center/).

Or you could use IrfanView, its freeware at www.irfanview.com

I have been trying to take screenshots for ages.................. but never quite worked out how, hopefully i will be able to take one now :cool4:

It will be numbered.

Then host it on imageshack or a service like that.

then wrap IMG quotes around the link. (If you use imageshack, it will be the last link) so it will look like this (without the *):[*IMG]linkgoeshere[/*IMG]

Also if you have xfire, you can take screenshots by pressin the following
: SCROLL LOCK + S

You change this by going to the tool/ options / chat then click on the screenshot biding key and press a two key combo.

That is, I believe, hotlinks for forums 1 or thumbnails for forums 1 on imageshack. Just copy and paste it into your post. Imageshack's web address is "www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us)". Cheers!
