In RTR-PE 1.8, the Senate is apparently going to be completely and totally gone. I would like to replace it with Epirus. Now that it's been removed, is it just like adding any other faction, or is using that slot extra complicated?

Running -mod under BI 1.6 and, I'm told, in RTW 1.5, you need to change the internal name of the faction in that slot so in descr_sm_factions you don't have romans_senate but have 'Epirus' or 'not_senate' / whatever.

For approx list of files you need to alter see first post here:

there might be some more for the senate, just run a search for files containing...

Oh and make sure when they said - its totally gone, that they haven't already replaced it with anything - check it is still in sm_factions and not used in descr_strat!

Just run a search for files containing the word "senate"? Makes sense.

Thanks for the info! What if you're not running -mod, though? In fact, what does that mean? The Extended Realism mod that I'm altering usually just runs right off the exe with no command line settings.

You ought to search for what you need to replace: romans_senate

I see, thank you. Although in RTR-PE 1.8, it appears to be named Kralstvo-dvoroi. *shrugs* It's gone, which is the important thing. :)
