Both Mecca and the Kaaba predate Islam. If you want to learn more there's always good ol' wikipedia:

Most religions absorb things of previous religions. Christianity is mostly Jewish. Catholicism adopted many Germanic practices. If Catholicism adopts shamanistic beliefs you get Voodoo. Buddism is mostly Hinduism. Buddism in Japan adopted all of the Shinto beliefs. And Islam adopted many old Arab beliefs. (Allah actually predates Islam.)

The same could be said with nations. The Seleucids tried to be the new Persians. The Ptolemais tried to be "Egypt reborn". During the Dark Ages and Middle Ages, ever raising nation tried to make themselves look like the new Roman Empire.

Many things that are widely connected with a certain group, nation, or religion often predate them. If we had lost all history, people would think that Rome was founded by a Pope. Or that the Hebrews built Jerusalem.

EDIT: Sorry, OT random tangent...

In the Muslim narrative, The Kabba was originally dedicated to God by Abraham. Then, over time, People began to invent assistants to the one God that shared his house in Mecca. When Muhammad conquered and clensed the Kabba, it was more of a Rededication to Allah rather than the appropriation of a pagan temple.

Yes, I'm Very Aware of the pre-History of The East..and the Pre-islomic history of the kaaba etc etc etc..and after islam fades away like all great worshipings and followings it will fade into the history books and be conqured by anouther reglion to spring out of no where..this is predictable history:book:
