HI all this is my first post, and im posting to say that last night after playing from 1pm i finally completed my first grand campaign (long) with the mighty English.

WOOT!

i can now sleep easy.

Just a few observations...

My objective was 45 regions including Jerusalem, i played as an aggressive/passive sought of approach i only attacked ppl that attacked me first....but saying that when they did attack me i did wipe them from the face of gods earth :whip:

:)

So anyways....i held all of europe except spain and a lot poland and sweden area and i was at 44 regions. So i got together 4 lots 4 gun holks and sailed from genoa or milan all the way around Italy to Jerusalem that was controlled by Eypt whom i never had spoken to. (I had not explored past greece with any of my units!). I landed my army and sieged Jersualem....only to find it had 81 units inside!

Now i was expecting a big fight..

i was kind of dissapointed....

i auto resolved and got VICTORY!

I kind of wish i had spoken to the Eygptians to annoy them just so they would put some troops in there.

Anyway...im trying to work out who to play was considering playing English again on VH/VH. i was playing medium before.

Oh who are the Tirmids? I heard about them but i never saw them

regards

P.S. is it worth playing on? Im at year 1464...

Mong/Tirm should be around by now did you get the scroll telling you of the invading horde? If not then both are deffinently on the way look out :laugh4: . I played England, Scott's, Spain, now Russia, Scott's were tough but once you conquer the isle and hit the main land your good to go $$$$ is tight to start. Spain, was great different units gun powder "crush the Moors" ~D . Russia really looks good "Fun Stuff" hun ~ ...

Welcome to the boards!

Hope you stick around.

I've only beaten the game once for grand campaign. That was England M/M. I love the game, but I always get flustered when I'm constantly attacked and I give up also because I want to try a new faction. So I haven't really beaten the game much nor have I fought the invaders yet.

Nice job on your conquest!! I played the same my first and was successful but suffered a terrible reputation earlier because of objectives. There was always a DOW but somehow the College was full of my Cardinals and it was an English Pope till the end of the game so that wasn't a problem.
On a second go around if you try the English try to keep the reputation up. My second game I am playing the Scots with LTC v2.1 mod. I captured the British Isles but the English have a lot of Provinces in France.
Anyhow I have taken a slower approach because the finances are more challenging. Playing H/VH.
Playing for a better reputation and keeping it opens the diplomacy and I have far more allies then in the first game I played and fewer DOW against me.
It like a whole new game.

<M@> welcome to the org :balloon2: .
I'm guessing you've had the Mongols already, IIRC the Timurids come about 80 turns later.
Also, why not try the Sicilians? Island based for strong defence, and a fast route to the middle east for crusading... hurrah! And having the Pope living next door is not a bad thing, only the HRE will get frisky with you early on (pre patch anyway).

Hail! And welcome!

Try Scotland? An archnemesis of the faction you just played They have excellent pikemen (after applying fix) and have a good defensive position if you can drive the English off Britain. That leaves you set for a long comfortable campaign.

If one takes 45 settlements before the end of the campaign do you get a message saying you've won or something?
