Why does CA doesn't have community pet ?

In case you don't know what I mean by saying "community pet"; i took the term
from Sam in the Lionhead forums and Buggo from Relic forums. he is a company worker that keep give "inside" information on the forums, Community Manager.

I think that each company that consider her self and want to help people should appoint a person to interact with the community.

Right you are.

I think CA is more de facto, as in, they'll pop in whenever they can or whenever they see something worth mentioning. Anyway the community pet would only apply to the official forum I assume.

If i recall correctly, CA does read the forums, but having any staff member post here can cause more problems than it solves (ie expectations for the future, and the need for that dev to constantly check back with hq to see what he's posting)

While having a community liason might be a good idea, I for one are happy for them to just work on making the game as good as they can

:focus:

That is another reason though - the CA guys in the UK used to do a bit of community relations, but now the dev team in brizzie would be at a completely different time zone to most of you.

Why does CA doesn't have community pet ?

If this was TWC i'd expect the topic to be about me given the fact people seem to think im paid by CA over there. When in fact im just very, very lucky to have the contact with the devs i have.

And i think sapi summed up the reason why CA don't have a devoted community liasion.

Especially now that CA are owend by SEGA, any dev member has to check with both the head of the dev teams and SEGA before posting any juicy info.

well its true there is the checking problem and also when people develop ideas about future. but this happens anyway I think it works great to lionhead and relic that why i gave them as an example lionhead as well was solved out to a bigger company , and still they run a community pet. and while it may give troubles a bit , its worth while this troubles and will do mostly good.
besides he doesn't have to report everything , like the others he just need to throw of some info from time to time to specific important questions and mostly just talk with the people to keep them happy :D.

and about the official forums , of course it should be there and not in an unofficial fan site, but this site is way better and have more community alive :).

I thought CA did have guys readin this forum regularly but from what I read/heard they stopped because so many people were putting out negative comments orsoemthing like that.

CA do have guys who read the forums, they just rarely post on them.

The good news is that the job offers a 6 figure salary.

The bad news is they pay you in Florins

The CA guys used to post here more often, but there haven't been much with M2T2. Maybe its because of the general attitude towards the game and its issues, or maybe they're just busy. Who knows.
