...and I'm happily downloading it from the EB website.

0.81 is out! Sally out from your fortresses, and ~:pimp: go get it, boys and girls! :beam: I sing in joy! What's the first faction you people are now going to play since .81 is savegame incompatible?

I think the Orbster is going to try a Ptolemaioi game. Just because of the awful memories I have of vanilla Egypt. I don't think I'll enjoy it too much, but you never know.

How could you not? You have the Seleukidai, the Sabaeans, and the Qart Hadastim to play with! It's exciting! ...If not because I don't like playing in Africa on account of the heat, I would be doing Ptolemaioi... Oh well. I'll see what my girlfriend wants to play, she'll probably go for Baktria again.

Wonder if it's true, but she says girls tend to want to fight from a distance and overwhelm people with arrows, while guys like to get upclose and personal... I mean, my ideal Baktrian army and hers reflect that, mine has only 5 archer units, hers has 9... oO

Aaaanyway. Probably will play Baktria again unless she relents and starts a shared Mak campaign with me. xP

Why are you double posting? You already posted this thread - https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=79662 - and you think that the news hasn't been posted already? It has been posted in the first sticky topic on the top of the page: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=79642 (ok, first it was not a sticky topic and you couldn't miss it, but when it was sticky'd I had to look for it too).

Oh c'mon FF, the guy's excited! It's EB 0.81 for crying out loud! Let there be as many posts and threads as the fans desires. I for one applaud this thread. :balloon2: (The mods might not like it but hell, we're happy people right now)

Ptolemaioi can be fun.
They are definitely NOT hard. You can have elite troops pretty quickly as cash flows in that you will have Kleruchikon Agema from Alexandria within 14-15 turns. So if you want a challenge, I'd pick Maks

Seleukids though will be a challenge as EVERYONE attacks YOU.

Downloaded 0.81. Installed it. Currently loving it. Noticed those new walls straight away. Man, what an eye candy.

Keep up the good work lads. Your product is certainly one of the most quality staff I've seen in years, certainly better then some "real" over budgeting games.

Oh....Geez...I started my AAR two days to soon! It's such a good campaign too.
8.1 will have to wait ( unless I get my butt kicked..The Getai have been challenging so far.)

You will regret it. The Getai have a brand new general who is absolutely GORGEOUS. And the other features? Trust, me the rave reviews have barely begun to trickle in.....you might as well be the one writing them instead of reading them and kicking yourself!

Observant guy. Pardon the double posting. It's a long story. My comp has a BIOS problem which means every time I boot up the damned thing it resets my computer clock to 12 midnight on 1 January 2000. Just so happened that the threads on the forum here are arranged in chronological order, and when I posted the first one i hadn't readjusted my clock yet. So when i posted it, i couldn't find the entry anywhere, so I figured it must've gone to back of the list, or something. So I reposted.

Ah well. I need a better computer, I've been reduced to using my girlfriend's laptop to handle EB! T_T which means I can only play it a few hours once a week! T_T Automatic clock resets; what next?

@pezhetairoi

Regarding your clock problem - if your comp is more than a couple of years old it is probably the CMOS back up battery on the motherboard needs replacing (approx 1cm round watch type battey).

On topic... I am now sorely tempted to try the Ptollies, from what I've heard the A.I. factions are now more aggressive, and 0.81 Selukids are a raving monster.

Ptolemaioi games are pretty fun, but be careful - by the midgame you will essentially be where the Seleukids are at the game start - sprawling, with vast distances between your capital and your outlying lands. If you play with BI, your endless miles of coastline will be a fat, juicy target for naval invasions.

Oh that's it? Thanks so much! I can fix this problem, at least. X_x Even though i can't fix eb lag on my computer, Aaaargh, or even the thing that makes RTW gold detect an older version of RTW on my comp so I can't even install 1.5 and play EB. X_x

I started a Saba game when I got .81 installed, damn fun so far, Full Allyship with Military Access with the Ptolmies and a short skirmish with the Selukids fought, pretty dang fun...
