I have an "utterly insane" general that became faction heir because the inquisitor decided to burn the previous faction heir. I decided to kill him off by sending him to the rebels but I felt a little sorry for him--so I controlled him like I would in a real fight so that he can at least die a glorious death. It turns out, this man just don't wanna die! He beat 4 rebel armies, and in 3 of those 4 battles, I was sure he was going to die due to the odds. Here are some screenshots:

The opposing guys weren't peasants either. They were Sudanese Javelinmen/Spearmen and Camel guys (I forget their name). It would be understandable if the general was a 10 star with high dread to scare them all. But he's not. (He started with like 1 star and no experience before I sent him to attempt suicides) :skull:

In some cultures, crazy people were considered holy and lucky.

If I'd were you, I'd see how uber I could make him. Maybe, one day eventually, he'll be able to single handedly take down whole stacks.

He looks quite good to me. His high Chivalry could be useful, as could his command potential. The fact that he is insane probably won't deduct from those abilities too much. Keep him as a military General.

Keep him around, my current king was in the same position once. He's now a 9star 10 dread king with 8 authority. Still ahead of an all cav army that is wreaking havoc in Europe somewhere.

My current doge has that same trait, however that doesn't stop him from being the 10 star, five dread, 10 authority conqueror of Byzantium. You should give your insane general a sizeable stack and see how useful he is to your conquests.

Besides I love it when he says "I know my enemies say that I'm crazy, but I have consulted my voices and they say I'm just fine"

Put him on a ship and send him to Jerusalem as quickly as possible. With those 5 stars of chivalry he should be able to lower any unrest in the city preventing a rebellion. Plus it says he's a saint, so where else would be more appropriate? :)

Cheers

He did kinna grow on me, but there are a few more problems. He's only a couple of years apart from his brother the king so he'll be almost useless if he ever becomes king. Also, that whole family line is crazy and the next eligible heir is from another line--so I want to kill this guy off before the king's kid comes to age(unless I want to keep dealing with psycho heirs).

This is his king brother. He's only mildly crazy and quite decent so far, but one more crazy level and his authority takes a -4 hit.
