okay some people find Milan if not hard to fight just plain annoying but i maneged around 1190 to take almost all of there cities with minimal loses and with the support of the pope and then force them to sign a peace treaty. here is how i did it

I was playing with France and from the start and i decided to become a peaceful faction for a change. And i made an alliance with the pope and with all other catholic factions. I joined every crusade and completed every one of them. So it wasn't long till i became the pops favorite and he named lots of French cardinals . then suddenly my ally Milan attack me at Bern. I quickly gathered lots of troops and successful defended the castle. And the tried over and over i think at least 3 times.

not only had Milan suffered many loses will i was hiding behind high walls, the pope was more and more choosing my side and abandoning Milan for what they did. And then it happened the pope had excommunicated Milan. And a i saw my chance so i requested a crusade against the city Milan. and every single catholic faction joined the crusade. now the tables had turned not only was i the one invading i had the pope and the rest of Christendom behind me.

and the rest as they say i history
