ohh boy!need some help out here!:help:
Just installed EB 0.8.1 full installation in a clean brand new installation of rome 1.5 version...deleted the map.rwm as recomended so it would recreate itself:
"9. Go to "\Rome - Total War\EB\Data\world\maps\base" and delete the file map.rwm. This is to make sure EB uses the latest map changes."
and started a campaing with the romans...activated the script...played one turn and jumped to the next one...it was all summer...so i decided to test the load...went out of the campaing and load the same campaing and the result!!boom!!it was at winter!!the hole map was at winter but the game and personages indications showed it as summer as it really was...I started tree campaings as the romans and it happens every time i load the game at the second turn...

Hi MaximianusBR,
May I suggest that whenever you load a campaign you activate the script by clicking on a settlement. The script, very sadly, once activated in a camapign does not stay activated after the exiting of that game so you have to activate the script each time you re-load a save. Good luck and cheers!

I know it...I activate the script everytime I open the campaing map...starting a new game or loading a save...

Hmm, strange. Perhaps it will correct itself if you move onto the next turn?

Woho, slow down there Maximianus, I suggest you try ending the turn first before you go that drastic!

I installed the 0.81 full installer of 362 MB over a clean 1.5 version...is it right?

I doubt problems will come back to haunt you, they may do, yet I doubt it. If it fixes itself by clicking the end turn button then nothing else can possibly go wrong.

so I'll try it:2thumbsup:
If you load a campaign the map may look like its winter while its not actually winter(depending on the turn (I think it happens every even turn)).
After activating the script and moving your view a full shot to the left/right/top/bottom of the map and returning the winter graphics should be gone.

It's a possibility...
now I'm not at home and can't test the possibilities but as soon as i get in home i will test yours and Omanes Alexandrapolites suggestions...thank you all for helping:2thumbsup:

The script is working fine. This is a known issue with the four-turns-per-year script - when you do as you say, the RTW engine brings up the winter graphics for that first turn that you load, but the script should prevent movement from being affected. The only place you should see actual snow effects which could change gameplay is on the battlefield for that one turn.
After you hit "end turn" things should self-correct back to normal.
After you initialize the script, you can move the campaign camera to somewhere where there isn't snow, like Africa, then move it back to wherever and the snow will be gone. They had some crazy snowblowing technology in those days, you don't even wanna' know. Or was it ancient global warming...?

I don't know, I don't have a working 0.81. That was 0.80. (They should be nearly the same size but with a little change. Thought I would give you an approximate since nobody else responded.) For exacts, sorry, I can't help.

thanks for the attention btw!:beam:
anyone knows the exact size????
Y'know, it doesn't really matter. Just delete it if your unsure about anything, a new one will be generated when you start the game.

The technique you use with the map.rwm.
In truth, if all files are there and updated to 0.81, then it will self generate an accurate map.rwm.

so...thats why I want to know the exact size in KBites of a totally complete and right map.rwm...so I'll see if my map.rwm is right...If it's right then theres no files lacking and the game is all updated to 0.81...so I can relax and play it without any concerns...

Well, 080 and 081 are nearly the same size. And if there is a file missing, RTW will probably crash on the intial load screen. So there is no way of knowing. If all other features of 081 are there, then the map features are there too.
my map.rwm
size: 7,10 MB (7.452.171 bytes) 7452171/1024 = 7277,5 KB
size on disk: 7,10 MB (7.454.720 bytes) = 7280 KB

I thought that you only have to do the delete map thingy, if you install the EB patch v0.8.1 over v0.8? Does it also apply to the full install?
I didn't delete any maps with my full install, and I have the new map.

deleted it just to feel safe...
Oleo and mine map.rwm size:
size: 7,10 MB (7.452.171 bytes) 7452171/1024 = 7277,5 KB
size on disk: 7,10 MB (7.454.720 bytes) = 7280 KB
if you compare your EB folder map.rwm size to these ones and it's equal than everything is ok I think...

Every time you install any EB, it is safe to go there and check to see if a map.rwm needs to be deleted.
Whether you installed 0.81 patch or the 0.81 full installer, the thing that matter is whether you installed it ontop of .080. If there was 0.80, delete the file. If there was only RTW vanilla before installing, you don't need to.
