Hey, just bought RTW Alexander! And, as curious as I was I had played the Macedonians, or however they called. Just won it with killing whole Persia and 30 settlements. Now however, I can't get new factions like the barbarians. So my question is: how to get the other factions AND the new historical battles?

For the historical battles, you need to win them in series to unlock the later ones.

To play as other factions, you must either edit the descr_strat file to move them into the playable section, or download and install a mod such as BKB Alexander Mini-Mod or econ21's Alexander Nice And Slow.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have changed it but do I have to fill in at playable Persia or Persians?

Just cut and paste their faction name from the unplayable section to the playable section, then you're guaranteed to have it correct.

I've fillen in this:

campaign Alexander
options +defeat_movie_bi_style
playable
macedon
parthia
gauls
germans
dacia
scythia
persian
end
unlockable
end
nonplayable
end

But when I start to play the persians and I click on start campaign it goes back to the menu of His. battles, custom and quick, so what do I have to do?

Shouldn't you have slaves in your nonplayable section?

Yes, I get it... I don't have Alexander, so I can't give you the original. My only advice is to re-install, then just move in the faction you want to play one at a time. The trick is to remember what you changed so you can fix it. Also... Make backups.

Another good trick is to use the semi colon ";" to comment out stuff. I usually comment out the original text, so the information is still in the file if there is a problem.
